Our Instructors

Michael Sanders serves Valley of Blessing as Teaching Elder and Director of the Yeshiva (Academy). Michael has been in ministry since 1977 serving a variety of fellowships as a teacher and counselor. Michael is a “tent-maker” working as a Consultant in the areas of Relational Awareness, Organizational Health and Leadership Development. He has undergraduate degrees in Psychology and English and graduate degrees in Theology and Church History with graduate work in the areas of Christian Education and Discipleship.

Michael’s wife Patti serves with him through her ministry to women and Bible teaching. It was (and is) her keen insights into the Word and her willingness to wrestle with it that inspired and sustained Michael in his early ministry. Her skill and experience as an Editor is something Michael sorely needs and is blessed by. Patti has mentored many young women over the years and is a spiritual “grandmother” several times over.
They have ministered together since their marriage in 1977.

Patti’s heritage is Jewish and Michael describes his as “Paint yourself blue and bang ‘em on the head pagan.” Their journey to a Torah observant position was long and at times difficult and costly. Patti and Michael are grateful for having discovered Valley of Blessing and especially for Carol Barton (the drum, dance and shofar lady) for reaching out across the internet to two complete strangers and sharing Valley of Blessing.

Michael and Patti’s ministry is centered on the 133rd verse of Psalm 119: “Fix my steps in Your Word; and let no evil rule over me.”

Richard Geiger is our congregational leader. Richard has been in ministry for nearly 30 years. Changed deeply through the Hebraic roots of our faith, through the ancient prayers of the Apostles, and God's love for Israel and the Jewish people, he was called by God to lead the Messianic congregation in Greensboro, NC. He continues to study, research, and teach the Hebraic (Biblical) roots of the faith, as well as, reach out to the Jewish community with the good news of their Messiah. (MMin, MA in Counseling, MDiv and hospital adjunct chaplain for 15 years.)
